Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York
This small residential loft is located in a former printing plant in Greenwich Village. The visual energy of the space was focused on large windows that face a tree-lined courtyard at the center of the building. We kept the architecture simple and restrained in order to allow this beautiful view to maintain its primacy. Cherry-veneer cabinetry, and industrial maple flooring from the original space are the primary surface materials. We also kept the original ornamented cast-iron columns within the space in order to link the new loft to its origins.
